E3 Business Awards 2016 finalists announced

1 Events Media, the host of the 2016 E3 Business Awards, has named the 82 finalists that will be competing for this year's 17 award categories. The results will be announced at the E3 Business Awards Dinner, which will take place on Friday June 3 at the Macron Stadium in Bolton.

Held annually since 2013, the E3 Awards celebrate diversity and achievement within the North West business community. The nominees comprise a broad spectrum of companies, charities, social enterprises and individuals.

"Every year, the Award get bigger and the standard gets higher," said 1EM managing director Mubarak Chati. "This year, the total number of nominations was 25 per cent up on last year, which was itself 30 per cent higher than 2014.

"However, each year also seems to bring a surprise of some kind. This year, that came in the shape of a big surge in entries from the voluntary sector. Since 2013, we've had an award category for social enterprises, but this time, we had so many nominations from charities that we felt we really ought to add a new award to reflect their numbers, their achievements and the great work they're doing. Consequently, although we started this year with 16 categories, we've now added another."

Tickets for the awards dinner are now available.
