Drivers Direct Recruitment, one of the UK’s leading providers of temporary and permanent drivers to commercial organisations, has appointed Danny Jellicoe as managing director.
Danny has been with the business for nearly 20 years and now takes over with responsibility for the company’s continued growth and strategic direction.
The appointment comes as Driver’s Direct announces a £3.3m MBO that sees founder Gethin Roberts, move to the position of chief executive for a 12-month transition period. The new management team will continue to pursue a strategy of organic growth through the acquisition of new sites that enhance the company’s existing operating base of 21 locations across the UK and a dedicated logistics centre in Tamworth.
Danny joined Driver’s Direct in 2002 as a consultant, progressing through the company to, branch manager, regional manager, and then operations director before his most recent appointment.
Danny Jellicoe, managing director of Drivers Direct said: “There is an unprecedented demand for drivers and the business is well placed to support our clients in meeting these needs. Having been with the business right from the start I’m proud to now lead the team as we look forward to delivering further expansion and continued growth both across our branch network and our logistics division.”
Gethin Roberts, founder and chief executive of Drivers Direct adds: “Danny is extremely diligent and a safe pair of hands that knows the business and our clients. It is an exciting time for the business as we look to meet the continued demand for our services and to rise to the challenges presented by the current driver shortages.”
Formed in April 2002, the driver recruitment business specialises in the training and placement of drivers across all vehicle classes on both a temporary and permanent basis. Driver’s Direct supplies more than 1,100 drivers a week to clients from across the public and private sectors and provides management and support staff.
