Amazing Accrington is inviting local Hyndburn eateries to secure their stall for this year’s Accrington Food Festival by offering a 50 per cent stall discount to businesses until the end of February.
The Food Festival headlines a sensational weekend of events in Accrington from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th June 2022, including a war re-enactment and a three-day beer festival, with the Food Festival taking place on Saturday 11th June.
One local business which has already signed up for the festival is Café 88, a family-run café, proudly selling “local produce to local Hyndburn people.” And it is similar businesses that Amazing Accrington are now inviting to take advantage of their special offer, who may not be able to sponsor the event but would benefit greatly from selling their products on a stall.
Murray Dawson, chair of Amazing Accrington, said: “We hosted the 2021 Christmas Light Switch On and the feedback we received from local businesses was that it was the busiest that they had ever seen the Town and we focussed on local food businesses. We believe we can better that at the 2022 Accrington Food Festival.
“Local businesses are integral to what we do and we hope by offering this discount, it will encourage more to sign up and come and join us for what will be a wonderful weekend in the Town.
“When Darryl from Café 88 approached us to sponsor the event, we said the best way to engage is to take a stall and sell produce where the footfall is. That way you will have a financial benefit to the business i.e. bake 500 cakes and sell them on the day.
“We can only have so many stalls in one section, so it’s first come first served on this special offer.”
Miles Parkinson OBE, leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, added: “#AmazingAccrington are running some fantastic events this year and we want all our local businesses to be involved in some way.
“This is a fantastic offer and a wonderful opportunity to sell your products to a large number of people in the Town centre, making new customers along the way. We want people to shop local and use the Town centre!”
