Chefs at a popular gastro pub cooked up a selection of exciting specials as it celebrated cuisine from around the world.
The Derby Arms, in Longridge, part of the award-winning Seafood Pub Company group, held a World Seafood Night to entice guests with dishes from across the globe and raise money for charity.Jemma McAnespie, marketing manager at the Seafood Pub Company, said: “Events like this are a great chance to do something a little different for our customers and raise funds for a great charity.
“The specials, live music from Mike Kneafsey and prize draw on offer throughout the evening were really well received, and it was a fantastic night.”The event was in aid of Child Reach International, a charity which supports children across the world, providing practical solutions to make children’s rights a reality, and building relationships with local partners and people to improve the lives of young people.
Guests were asked to make a donation on arrival, and all names were put into a prize draw, with a chance to win a £50 voucher to spend in any of the Seafood Pub Company’s venues. Special dishes on the evening included choices of a robata grilled king prawn skewer, with Creole rice and caramelised lime from North America, king scallops and samphire ceviche with crunch salsa, mint and chilli from Europe, and Sri Lankan tuna rolls with Asian ketchup from Asia, to name a few.Jemma added: “The dishes created by our chefs were packed full of interesting ingredients and flavours, giving diners a real authentic feel for worldwide cuisine. “It was a great event for both staff and customers, and we’re already looking forward to the next one at our sister venue, the Oyster & Otter in Feniscowles on the 30th June!”
