After Nominet launched its Digital Neighbourhood programme in Preston last summer, 17 young people have been trained and six companies have gained new employees.
Tech firm Nominet, best known for running the .uk internet infrastructure, launched the initiative to offer training and paid work experience to young people aged 18-24 in order for them to gain digital skills whilst developing their professional networks and confidence.
Once trained, young people are connected with local SMEs, helping them to gain valuable work experience. The business also gains a valuable resource and advice on how to boost their business online.
