New homes and business units are under development at a site in Burscough.
The Yew Tree Park Strategic Development Site will soon be home to more than 500 new dwellings and 14 employment units, with more to follow, on the 183 acre site.
Phase 1 of the housing development saw Redrow Homes secure planning permission for 146 homes, which is now 50 per cent complete. Phase 2 has been acquired by Anwyl Homes where marketing is about to commence.
In addition to residential development, Burscough-based developer Crompton Property Developments is bringing forward 45 acres of land for the construction of new employment units.
The first phase, known as Dakota Business Park and comprising 14 new units, is currently under construction and all units have been either sold or let prior to completion. The first two companies to take occupation and commence trading include Nutree Life Ltd and Flooring UK Ltd.
David Crompton, managing director of Crompton Property Developments, said: "The take up of space has been
exceptional and we will shortly be submitting detailed plans for the next two phases of employment development to
be known as Seafire Business Park and Barracuda Business Park and comprising a wider size range of units to fulfil
demand from both smaller and larger occupiers.
"We have found that by offering units for sale as well as for renting we can satisfy the huge latent demand for high quality, new employment space."
