A department store located near a motorway junction has welcomed an increase in the number of coach companies choosing to visit its premises.
JAK Hanson, located off the M6 at Wrightington, says a growing number of coach companies are bringing an increasing number of passengers to its door.
The retail offering includes clothing, footwear, toys, homewares, gifts and bedding while the site has substantial parking space. The 18,000 sq ft building also houses the Derby House Food Hall and The Paddock Restaurant.
The business has welcomed 23 coach companies over the years and has noticed a surge in coach custom this year, with regular visitors including Johnsons, Buckleys, Greenline, Timewells and Dave New Tours.
Jane Ramones, co-founder of JAK Hanson, said: "It's brilliant to welcome returning and new coach companies - all reporting an increase in people booking more day trips and coach holidays.
"We're seeing more consistency on coaches coming and repeat custom from drivers. We offer a free meal at the restaurant for the driver and £10 if they stop 1.5 hours or more and we personally welcome the passengers on arrival."
The family business has also achieved award recognition this year and has been shortlisted for the Lancashire Tourism Awards Finals 2023 in the category of Family Owned/Run Business. The winner is set to be announced in February 2024, following a round of interviews and mystery shopper visits.
