Logistics firm DX has opened a new 22,142 sq ft depot in Preston as it expands its parcel delivery network across the UK.
DX, launched in 1974 as Document Exchange, today offers services including parcel freight, secure courier, two-man and logistics services.
The new depot is located on a 1.4 acre site on the Preston Industrial Estate. It provides additional capacity for its parcel network in the North West, with easy access the M6 and M65 motorways also enabling the company to reduce stem mileage and carbon emissions while improve operational efficiencies and enhancing customer service levels.
This latest opening takes the total number of depots in the DX Express network to 41, with eight being opened in 2023.
Twenty jobs have been created at the Preston site, which will increase as the depot grows.
Paul Ibbetson, chief executive officer of DX Group, said: "We are pleased to add this new depot in Preston to our DX Express division as part of our continued investment in the business.
“We look forward to integrating this new depot into our existing network and continually improving the service that we provide to our customers.”
