Blackburn-based recruitment specialist Cummins Mellor has launched a brand new Industrial & Warehouse division after experiencing an increasing demand for temporary staff throughout the pandemic.
Cummins Mellor predominantly focused on the permanent recruitment of commercial and office-based roles for Lancashire’s leading businesses, however the lockdown provided an opportunity to pivot by providing local people with temporary and permanent opportunities at sites which required immediate help.
To ensure the launch of the division was off to a solid start, the company recruited an experienced manufacturing consultant, Mia Gray, to run the division by matching talented local people to businesses in industries including logistics, manufacturing, FMCG, warehousing, retail and waste management.
With an already strong network of fully referenced and DBS checked candidates available, the team apply the same principles and standards as they do with their permanent recruitment and pride themselves on the quality of the candidates they put forward.
Katie Mellor, managing director at Cummins Mellor, said: “I’m delighted that the division is growing at such a rapid pace and is continuing to go from strength to strength. Our new clients are so happy with the service we are providing by doing all the relevant background checks and matching the right people to them every time.”
With a desire to grow the division even further over the next few months, Mia is now working with companies of all sizes to recruit large volumes of assemblers, pickers and packers, FLT drivers, warehouse team leaders, machinists, warehouse operatives and supervisors for temporary, seasonal and ongoing contracts.
