The Cumberland has made a key managerial appointment in Preston. Laura Short, the new area business development manager, will aim to grow the award-winning building society’s business in the region.
She entered the financial sector with NatWest and quickly moved on to Entwistle Green, where she spent 12 years as an executive manager, most recently running its flagship city centre office in Preston.
Laura said: “I will be looking to develop close links with employers, professionals, schools and colleges and the broader community to build relationships and increase awareness of our tremendous products and services." The Cumberland recently announced underlying profit after tax this year of £14.82m, an increase of over 17 per cent on the previous year - a result which sees the Cumberland remain one of the most successful building societies in the UK.
