Wellbeing is an important part of everyday life. According to the NHS’s 5 Steps to mental wellbeing; connecting with other people is the first step to improving mental wellbeing. Building good relationships leads to improved feelings of belonging and self-worth, more opportunities to share positive experiences, and provide critical emotional support through tough times.
At CUBE HR, we are committed to improving the wellbeing of your team and are pleased to announce we are partnering with Wellbeing Lancashire on their KINDEST County Campaign to help foster positive relationships in our communities.
To help bring Wellbeing Lancashire’s vision to light we’ve used our experience and combined it with their resources to create improved methods for dealing with stress and garnering positive thought. We’re going to take a quick look at who Wellbeing Lancashire are and how we’re working together.
Why is wellbeing so important?
Health and wellbeing are incredibly important, both at work and at home. For employers, making a concerted effort to address workplace wellbeing not only helps close colleagues and friends but also improve productivity and mood. Stress can also take a toll on the body making your team more susceptible to illness. Putting in place practices, information, and resources around mental wellbeing and wellness can help address any issues, improve the mood of your office, boost productivity, and reduce the load on health services.
Who is Wellbeing Lancashire?
Wellbeing Lancashire is a collaborative organisation with a shared vision to improve wellbeing in Lancashire. This organisation is run by a dedicated team who are in constant communication with providers to create and adapt strategies that create lasting positive health outcomes. This organisation works across sectors to improve the lives of people in local government, care, education, and local business.
This organisation is also acutely aware of how people have been affected by 2020 and the COVID pandemic. Cherlye Britton, Wellbeing Lancashire Director and Founder YOLO Wellbeing, highlights this need: “Our goal is to make wellbeing a top priority for the county and help our local economy bounce back bigger and stronger from the COVID pandemic. Our rapidly growing accredited membership platform promotes the quality and variety of health and wellbeing services available in Lancashire.”
CUBE HR and Wellbeing Lancashire
We were so pleased to have the opportunity to work with Wellbeing Lancashire on the KINDEST County Campaign. One of the exciting endeavours we’ve started is practising the Kindest Calendar. This calendar has quotes and challenges for you to try every day. From ‘get in touch with an old friend you’ve not seen for a while’ to ‘make uninterrupted time for your loved ones’ this calendar is full of easy ways to make sure you take stock of your wellbeing and engage with people around you. After 2020 and the strain several lockdowns have had on the nation, this practice is one that is essential to help deal with emotions and concerns. We’re also working closely with Wellbeing Lancashire on a think tank to address the impacts of COVID on jobs and health.
Cherlye Britton explains how this partnership works to change Lancashire business for the better: “We approached CUBE HR to get involved with a Wellbeing Lancashire Think Tank event we organised to discuss how COVID has impacted jobs and health in Lancashire. CUBE HR’s values closely align with those of Wellbeing Lancashire and they are always looking for ways to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
The CUBE HR team are actively participating in the actions on the Kindest Calendar to assist their own, and others, wellbeing and we’re extremely proud to be partnering with them, on the Lancashire KINDEST County Campaign.”
We’re excited with all the resources Wellbeing Lancashire have already provided us with and look forward to using our expertise and Wellbeing Lancashire’s goals to improve mental health in the workplace.
Here’s what it means to be working with such a positive force for change: “CUBE HR are always looking for ways to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. Our team are actively participating in the actions on the Kindest Calendar to assist our own, and others, wellbeing and we’re really happy to be Kindest Ambassadors and spread the kindness across Lancashire!” - Claire Thwaite, Head of HR Excellence at CUBE HR
