Boost has teamed up with NatWest to bring Back Her Business to Lancashire, supporting female entrepreneurs seeking crowdfunding to launch and grow their businesses.
The programme has been developed in partnership with Crowdfunder and forms part of NatWest’s wider commitment to reduce the gender gap when it comes to entrepreneurship. It is the UK’s first women only crowd funding initiative.
It has already helped 113 female-led businesses generate £741,310 of funds through crowdfunding since launching in March. NatWest has also gifted £274,700 for these campaigns.
Olivia Hooper (pictured) who is studying sports coaching at the University of Central Lancashire, raised £4,000 with the support of 42 backers through Back Her Business. She launched Kardia Sports, a social enterprise which aims to increase opportunities for girls to attend sports coaching sessions.
Female entrepreneurs in Lancashire can learn more about the programme, and crowdfunding in general, at a free workshop in Preston on November 26.
