Crowberry Consulting Ltd - Enabling Sustainable Futures has received the first net zero business accreditation from Chorley Council this week at a presentation in the Chorley Town Hall.
The Net Zero business awards recognises business in the borough of Chorley, Lancashire that are taking big steps to reduce their carbon footprint and green house gas emissions.
As a sustainability consultancy based in Chorley, Becky Toal CEO said; "We are delighted to have been chosen in the first tranche of Chorley businesses for this award, we calculate our carbon footprint annually across all emission scopes and apply the PAS2060 methodology to then understand areas where we can further reduce.
"Practical steps we have taken include investing in an e-bike for staff to use, paying for staff railcards and encouraging video conferencing to reduce travel emissions, we also offset any residual emissions with a Gold Standard and independantly verified carbon offset scheme."
In total six Chorley businesses were presented with their award and celebrated their fantastic efforts to reduce carbon emissions and show leadership in this vital area of environmental management and pollution control.
