Construction and Development experts Create Group, based in Blackpool, is pleased to announce that one of their young employees gained a prestigious apprentice award at Salford University's annual student ceremony at the Etihad stadium, Manchester on 5th February 2020. University of Salford graduate, Jack Hook was presented with the 'Apprentice of the Year Ambassador Award'at the prestigious ' University of Salford Annual Degree Apprenticeship Awards'. The win represents the role Jack plays as a young ambassador for careers in the Construction Industry. He is now working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for Create Construction in Salford and has been commended for his hard-working attitude whilst completing his degree at the same time. Jack, from Billinge - Merseyside, graduated with a with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying in August 2019. Create supported him during his studies, which included topics such as Commercial Management and Contract Law. By offering him a Degree Apprenticeship, Create helped Jack to gain valuable work experience by mentoring him in his chosen field during his studies. Jack's role at their Discovery Quay project is now giving him hands-on experience of prestigious high-volume student accommodation building projects. Jack commented: "I would like to thank everyone at the University and Createfor their nomination and support. My Degree Apprenticeship has put me on the right path to achieving my goal to climb the career ladder within the Construction industry. I'd like everyone to know just how much I appreciate their support and will continue to work hard to develop in my role here at Create." Apprenticeships are important to Create, whose 'People Strategy’ aims to support and nurture young talent within the Construction Industry. The company is developing a widening participation in work experience and apprenticeship schemes, thus expanding and improving the quality of training and development opportunities for people to establish long-lasting and meaningful careers with the company.
