Claire Oakes, SHEQ director, and Dave Jones, SHEQ manager, at Create Construction, have recently delivered a series of interactive Health & Safety training sessions, which were tailored to the group's overarching objective to enhance safety culture across the group.
At the heart of Create’s overall strategy is their ‘create a safer future’ initiative, which ensures it protects their people and environments at all times.
The topics covered in these interactive sessions, included industry best practice, summary of accidents / incidents, where the company are today and the consequences of getting it wrong. The sessions also involved teams working together to undertake accident investigations in conjunction with the Sentencing Guidelines.
Claire and her team are committed and continually striving to improve the safety culture throughout the business. Their extremely valuable work has been recognised by the awards and accreditations the Group already holds.
These include four ‘RoSPA Gold Awards’ and Claire herself was also presented with the ‘Maurice Adamson Award’ by Safety Groups UK in 2018, which recognises her outstanding contribution to the Construction Industry.
