Commercial refrigeration and air conditioning specialists, Climarite will attend a parliamentary reception being held to draw attention to the importance of the temperature-controlled supply chain – hailed as “the backbone of growth and security” for the UK’s economy.
Managing director at Climarite, Patrick Connolly, will attend as a guest of the Cold Chain Federation (CCF), along with other key members, and meet with Chris Clarkson MP at Westminster to discuss the challenges being faced by the industry
“Lancashire is home to a large number of thriving businesses that rely on the efficiency of the cold chain – food production, storage and distribution centres for example. Periodic reviews of industry regulations and government support is paramount for continued economic growth across the county,” explains Patrick.
A key part of the manifesto being proposed by the CCF is to reduce the industry standard setpoint across the frozen food supply chain (from -18C to -15C) to lower energy consumption by a minimum of 10 per cent.
Cold Chain Federation CEO, Phil Pluck says: “Our message ahead of the general election will be to highlight the criticality of a strong and robust cold chain to UK economic growth and prosperity."
