Around 100 of the most influential business leaders got together for the first ever ‘Choose Chorley Business Network’ organised by Chorley Council.
Attendees heard from Chorley Council leader, coun Alistair Bradley, who underlined the council’s commitment to developing a strong local economy.
He said: “This Choose Chorley Business Network event is one of the things we have put in place to help deliver one of our key priorities – a strong local economy.
“It is a chance for like-minded business leaders to get together to build their contacts to help their businesses and also remind people of the range of business support we as a council offer with help, advice and grants, and our key partners who offer a variety of business support initiatives.”
Coun Bradley said that the Choose Chorley Business Network, which will be held regularly, was not intended to replace existing business networks but instead to complement them and add to the value they offer.
He added: “I am keen to develop this network in a way which can best help you as local business owners and to meet your needs. Tell us what you want, how best we can help and we will do our utmost to deliver so that we can work together to build a strong and dynamic network and economy in Chorley.”
Keynote speaker at Choose Chorley Business Network was Mark Downing, managing director of Scorpion Automotive, the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of alarms, immobilisers and tracking systems to the automotive industry. He chose Chorley as the nerve-centre of his business, which last year had a turnover of £6m.
