A construction company has achieved energy self-sufficiency at its Blackpool headquarters with the installation of 46 solar panels.
The energy generated by Evolution is enough to power its premises, home to 12 staff, and its electric vehicle charging points.
The company's own staff installed the panels at the premises at Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone. Due to the location, Evolution has to secure special permission from the airport, providing assurances that the fixings could withstand strong winds and the panels would not produce glare.
Evolution is also working towards its accreditation to offer the latest renewable technology solutions to clients in the social housing, private housing and sheltered housing sectors across the North West.
JJ Fitzgerald, Evolution managing director, said: “Sustainability and finding new ways of working to leave positive impacts on communities is what drives us as a business. This is a project we are particularly proud of and excited about.”
