Lancashire’s most distinctive meeting venue is open for business as a modern new town centre hotel at Clitheroe’s Holmes Mill prepares to host its first conference and corporate hospitality events.

As its name suggests, the Spinning Block Hotel and Bistro has been converted from an elegant four-storey Victorian mill and the extensive Holmes Mill site, with its 14ft diameter mill wheel, preserved vintage machinery and a landmark chimney, is a celebration of Lancashire’s vibrant industrial heritage.

This atmospheric old mill complex oozes history, making it an inspiring destination to welcome clients, staff or suppliers for a conference with a difference.

Centrally located in the vibrant market town of Clitheroe, Holmes Mill is just a ten-minute walk from the railway station, where regular services to Blackburn and Manchester depart every hour.

With a function room for 50 to 150 delegates, the mill has already hosted some keynote events – including the highly successful Taste Lancashire Food Summit.

Offering so much more than just a standard corporate meeting place, the Mill is the complete residential conference package, comprising meeting, networking and presentation spaces. There’s also a dedicated in-house events team with years of hands-on experience in organising large-scale functions.

And once the day’s business is concluded, the options for informal networking, team building or entertaining are extensive.

Celebrate a productive day with a meal in the opulent surroundings of the Spinning Block Bistro where a contemporary British menu showcases the very best of Lancashire produce and traditional dishes.

Also on the same site, the stunning Bowland Food Hall showcases the best local food in Lancashire and indulgent items from further afield. It’s perfect for a spot of retail therapy followed by a glass of fizz and some nibbles at the tapas counter. Or why not incorporate a tour of the Bowland Brewery into your event?

The standard 45-minute tour – led by a knowledgeable guide – winds up in the lively beer hall next door for a taste of the brewery’s award-winning ales. However you choose to spend your time at Holmes Mill, this inspiring setting will spark stimulating conversations and vivid experiences that will linger in the memories of colleagues and clients alike.
