Saturday marked the club’s seasonal celebration of its official charity, Burnley FC in the Community.
A chance to place the spotlight on the expansive work of Burnley FC in the Community, the day is also a fundraising initiative to support the charity’s work in the local community.
Thirty bucket collectors, the majority of whom were Burnley FC in the Community staff members, were present around the stadium and in the concourses and collected many donations from generous fans.
In the lead up to the day, two special Community Day videos highlighting the work of the charity were released online, there was also a themed matchday programme and the players warmed up prior to kick-off in Burnley FC in the Community t-shirts.
Neil Hart, chief executive officer of Burnley FC in the Community said: “It was fantastic to see so many fans arrive at the stadium ready to show their support for Burnley FC in the Community.
“We met hundreds of generous and supportive Clarets – it was a real show of solidarity of the work we’re carrying out in the community every day and I thank everyone who contributed to our efforts.
“I’d encourage fans to keep up that support in any way they can and remind all Clarets that they can follow our work day-to-day via our website and social media channels.”
The fundraising for Community Day will continue as a number of framed and signed Burnley FC items will go on sale via Burnley FC in the Community’s eBay account in the coming days.
