Community Foundation wins award for support of women

The Community Foundation for Lancashire has been named Women’s Support Group of the Year at the English Women’s Awards (North) 2019.

The honour is in recognition of the organisation's Lancashire Women’s Fund, which was launched last year - 100 years after women were first given the right to vote - and has benefited hundreds of women across the county.

The fund has already raised £70,000 which has been distributed to small grassroots charities and community groups providing services for women of all ages and backgrounds facing issues such as domestic violence and abuse, mental health and wellbeing, confidence, aspiration, self-belief and resilience and social isolation.
