The Community Foundation for Lancashire has appointed Canadian Tim Mitchell as senior development manager.
Karen Morris, deputy CEO and director of business development, said: "I am delighted to welcome Tim, who has a wealth of business development experience gained at a senior level in Canadian and UK companies, including Diageo and Computershare.
"I know he will make a positive impact and build valuable relationships with the business community across Lancashire, who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of others.”
Tim commented: “A key part of my role will involve supporting businesses with their charitable giving, and working closely with them to achieve their ESG goals, particularly with regards to the social and community element, which the Community Foundation for Lancashire is able to help deliver. I am looking forward to being part of an incredible team dedicated to making a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable people across Lancashire.”
Talking about his love of the Lancashire Tim explained: “I’ve been amazed by the warm welcome I have received since living in Lancashire these past four years and feel privileged to be able to contribute positively through my work with the Community Foundation.
"What most people don’t realise is that there is an international movement of Community Foundations, working hard across the globe, including my home country of Canada.”
Tim will also continue to grow the Lancashire Investors in Community initiative, of which Edwin Booth CBE, DL, is Ambassador. He explains: “I aim to encourage more businesses to get on board with this fantastic initiative, which enables them to collectively support the Community Foundation for Lancashire, so they can continue helping grass roots community groups make a difference to those in need.”
Tim lives with his Lancashire born wife in Burscough, along with his 3-year-old son.
