The first ever Lancashire College Skills Competition brought together students from across the region to put their knowledge and technical skills to the test.
Held over two weeks, the programme was delivered by a partnership of nine of Lancashire’s colleges, who each hosted a different competition, seeing their ‘home team’ competing against those from other colleges to demonstrate key skills.
Each competition was judged by a panel involving key local employers, with medals being awarded to the winners and runners-up, as well as special ‘Rising Star’ awards for the individual students that showed the most potential.
Tasks ranged from designing and coding a computer programme to providing healthcare in a hospital setting to dummy patients.
