By day I am a director at Key Control Services Ltd. However this weekend I tackled Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles standing at 1,345m in height above sea level.
Overcoming winter conditions, snow and ice on the final ascent to the summit, at times I found it a struggle but persevering finally I made it. It was great to meet others on the way up who hold positions of responsibility and leadership in business that understand the values of setting goals and achieving them. The aid to well-being, mental health and work-life balance aid to the benefit.
In business also we sometimes have mountains to climb, whether it be having targets to meet and surpassing them, issues with cashflow or managing change the list goes on. Emotional resilience and intelligence are called upon to enable us to see the big picture, keeping focused on what it is we are striving to achieve. Experiences and achievements outside of work can be called upon to succeed.
Soon I will be revisiting Ben Nevis as well as other mountains, giving me the energy and focus to push on in business too. I look forward to the challenges of both.
