Chorley took centre stage in front of influential business people from across the North West as the borough showcased its development opportunities in Manchester city centre.
Dozens of big name businesses were keen to find out what Chorley has to offer and what opportunities there might be to invest in the borough.
Coun Alistair Bradley, leader of Chorley Council, said: “We are doing a lot of work to bring forward new sites in the borough that will attract new businesses and create more jobs for local people.
“We are in a great location as the gateway to the three major cities in the North West – Manchester, Liverpool and Preston – and now is the time to build relationships with agents, investors and developers who are looking for new sites.”
The event saw questions about the help available from Chorley Council as well as transport links, quality of life, availability of skilled employees – something which Chorley has to offer in abundance.
“It’s really encouraging that we’ve received positive feedback from the event and we are now in discussions with businesses and developers about moving here to Chorley,” said Alistair.
“One of the comments we received at the event was about how good it was to see a council being proactive and selling the borough in places like Manchester – we’ve put a lot of things in place to make Chorley a great place to do business so it’s important we put ourselves on the map and that people know what we have to offer.” The event was just one of many events Chorley Council hosts for businesses – the next one being the Choose Chorley Business Network evening on Wednesday 25 November at Chorley Town Hall, starting at 5.30pm.
