Chorley based public relations professional, Amanda Jackson, has been appointed to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) North West committee, and will be responsible for heading the team organising CIPR events in Lancashire.
Amanda founded manufacturing and logistics PR specialist firm, Tigerfish PR, 12 years ago, and has been a member of CIPR for over two decades. “I’m a real supporter of CIPR, which offers masses of support and advice for those at every level in the PR industry.”Amanda is also a volunteer mentor for a small business and is currently providing UClan undergraduate, Katie McGivney, with a work-experience placement.
Originally a scientist, Amanda began her PR career in Manchester in the 1980s and has worked in agencies in Burnley and Preston before establishing her own business. She is a member of the Women in Logistics steering committee and is a popular trainer on social media and PR.Amanda said: “I’m working with a great team of people to put together this year’s calendar of CIPR events in Lancashire. We’re lucky to have the support of UClan too, so students and practitioners can all benefit.” The next event this year will be a Meet the Press event at The Forum in Preston on 22nd May, 2013.
