Businesses in Chorley can now benefit from thousands of pounds worth of funding to help their companies grow and create new jobs.
It is the latest in a package of measures set up by the council which has pledged to help strengthen the local economy.
“Our vision is to strengthen the local economy - we already have a range of support services in place to aid start up businesses and this new grant enhances the support available to existing businesses. This will in turn create new jobs which will open up more opportunities for our residents to find well paid work.”
Councillor Bradley said: “We already have several businesses applying into this fund for a range of projects including the purchase of new plant and machinery, and building alterations. The grant contribution will help these businesses invest in their expansion plans in the short term and provide valuable job opportunities as a result.” In the last 12 months the council has appointed two business advisors to offer help and support to new and existing businesses, approved almost £100,000 of business grants and subsidies and launched a number of networking and information events in the town.
