Chorley Council has launched a new grant to help local businesses to meet their sustainability goals and reduce energy costs.
The Business Energy Support grant is open to applications from businesses operating across Chorley borough.
Designed to improve both energy efficiency and profitability, the grant can be used to fund equipment, identified by an Energy Audit, that will deliver a contribution towards carbon reduction and reduce energy use and costs.
Chorley Council will fund the Energy Audit which will be needed as part of the application process.
The level of grant awards ranges from £500 to £2,000 depending on the cost of the equipment specified in the Energy Audit.
Coun Alistair Bradley, leader of Chorley Council, said: "I am really pleased that we are now offering this new Business Energy Support Grant. It is a great addition to the support that we already offer to Chorley-based businesses.
"I know businesses are concerned about their energy costs at the moment and this grant will help to reduce their costs going forward and also contribute towards carbon reduction in the borough.”
