Chamber Low Carbon, an initiative launched to help businesses reduce their carbon footprint, has won the 12th World Chambers Congress Best Climate Action Project award.
The programme is run by the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Boost and Businesswise Solutions, and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
It offers a range of support, including free downloadable resources and one-to-one advice, help for those developing green technologies, and events and networking forums.
The award comes after Chamber Low Carbon worked with more than 1,000 businesses, issuing almost £500,000 in grants, creating 5,300 tonnes of CO2 savings, and working with 160 low carbon tech innovators and manufacturers.
The World Chambers Congress took place in Dubai and attracted 1,200 attendees from around the world.
