Lancaster District Chamber of Commerce director, Susan Sykes, has been invited to become an entrepreneur in residence at the Lancaster University Management School.
Susan was born and went to school in Lancaster and for 24 years she worked, with her family, to build up a Lancaster-based tour operating company, Omega Holidays plc, which employed 60 local people and served 110,000 customers a year, throughout the UK.
She said: "I am delighted to have my business career recognised in this way. I was tremendously fortunate to have the opportunity to run my own business and I look forward to sharing aspects of that experience with aspiring, young entrepreneurs. "I am passionate about business of all sizes but especially owner-managed enterprises. Such business endeavour is fundamental to the economic well-being of Britain and is a major and exciting force for social change, both for the individual entrepreneur and for our society as a whole."Enjoyed this?
