High fliers Lexi Hamer, from Cassons' accounts and business advice department, Michael Beal from marketing and the audit department’s Simon Read and Nick Gardner joined teams from six other Lancashire companies for the Rossendale Hospice Zip Wire Challenge at Zip World Titan in Snowdon, Wales.
Taking to the skies above the moors, mountains and mines of Snowdonia, the fearsome foursome sped along the zip wire at hair-raising speeds of 70mph to take them one step closer to reaching their target of £600 for the Hospice. The event gave Michael the chance to conquer his fear of heights, whilst Simon and Nick battled it out to see who could cross the finish line first. Supporting the team managing partner Les Nutter also joined the others in completing the Zipwire course.
As well as facing the adrenaline fuelled action of the zip line, the foursome had to complete a number of exciting inter-company challenges, including a synchronised landing, packaging an egg to prevent it from smashing and dropping it onto a target whilst travelling down the zip and a competition to see who could pull the funniest face.Their determination was rewarded as Team Cassons were top scorers, taking home a prize for their skills on the zip wire.
Les Nutter, managing partner at Cassons and Chair of the Rossendale Hospice Corporate Ambassadors Group, where the idea for the event was born, said: “We’d like to say a big thank-you to all of the teams for generously agreeing to give up their time and take part in what was a fantastic event.“It was a great way of raising money for what is a very deserving cause. Everyone who took part really enjoyed the experience and it was all the more worthwhile knowing they had helped to raise a significant sum for the Hospice.”
