NLTG, the training provider headquartered in Accrington, has history with The Energy Guys - the Tramway building, on Manchester Road in Accrington was for many years NLTG's head office premises, until the sale to the Energy Guys and their subsequent move to Bradshawgate House.
It was during this sale process that NLTG managing director, Gareth Lindsay, met Joel Tetlow, managing director of the Energy Guys, so knew they would be perfect partners for a full energy review of their Accrington premises.
Gareth invited them to conduct a full energy efficiency review, to ensure the buildings were up to date, reducing carbon emissions wherever possible and reducing energy consumption. Following the assessment, Joel was pleased to respond that solar panels would be ideal for their large premises, and also some replacement heating systems.
The Solar PV project will place panels totalling 193kw onto the roofs of all three buildings in Accrington, equating to approximately 550 solar panels. This will enable NLTG to immediately reduce their carbon emissions by a huge 75 per cent - and also reduce their energy consumption by 75 per cent.
Gareth Lindsay commented: "We were delighted to receive the good news that we can achieve a 75 per cent reduction in carbon emissions by installing the panels - and the 75 per cent reduction in usage will help with our bills too. It's great news we can be much better for the environment!"
Joel Tetlow added: "It was great to work with Gareth again, and achieve such an outstanding result for him. We currently have two Digital Marketing Apprentices training with us through NLTG, so there are lots of ways we've helped each other!"
