Spirits were high as a Pendle company held a celebratory birthday bash, raising £4,000 towards its £5,000 target for children’s cancer charity, Petal.
Businesswise Solutions, based in Nelson, celebrated five years in business with an event at Nelson Cricket Club, whilst also raising vital funds for Petal, who recently reached their £1m milestone.“The idea was to celebrate our fifth year in business surrounded by our customers, family and friends, whilst also helping to raise money for a great charity,” said Frazer Durris, managing director at Businesswise Solutions.
“The event was enjoyed by all, and everyone was keen to get involved in the fundraising activities. We had a meal tree, silent auction, raffle and local band The Semis; there were some great prizes on offer and I’m sure all the winners were thrilled with their gifts!”Vouchers for the meal tree were donated by local food businesses and prizes for the raffle and auction came from Businesswise Solutions clients and contacts.
Gazprom Energy donated an Amazon Kindle Fire, The Alma Inn in Laneshawbridge donated dinner, bed and breakfast for two people, Maree Leisure donated six months free gym membership and Virgin Media gave away two tickets for a VIP Box at O2 Arena with food and drink included.Karen Mendoros, chairman of Petal said: “Businesswise Solutions held a brilliant night, it was a great atmosphere and there was plenty for guests to get involved in.”
“The amount raised is testament to the hard work and effort put into organising the event; a great achievement, and one that all of us here at Petal are extremely thankful for, well done!” The company raised a fantastic £4,000 with plans to hold another smaller event to boost the funds up to their £5,000 overall target for the year.
