In 2021 Rainbow Hub Workout-athon had to go virtual but it’s back LIVE in The Great Room, Preston North End Football Club, Sir Tom Finney Way, Preston on Sunday 20th February from 10 am to 1.00 pm.
The eighth annual Workout-athon, which is being supported this year by JMW Solicitors, Preston North End and other local businesses including Ultrasec and Gareth Edwards Photography, includes fun challenges to help everyone get fit for 2022 and raise much-needed funds for the Mawdesley based charity supporting children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities.
Everyone is welcome and can do as much or as little as they wish in the three hours of fun-filled and energetic workouts including Rockbox, Zumba, HIIT, Body Combat/Attack and Freestyle Yoga (subject to change).
Entry is £10 in advance or £15 on the day and entry forms are available online at www.rainbowhub.org/event/workoutathon/ or by emailing [email protected] or ringing 01704 823276.
The closing date for postal entries is Thursday 17th February. Deadline for online entries is 12 noon on Friday 18th February or just turn up on the day.
Sponsorship is not compulsory but is encouraged as participants can raise even more funds for Rainbow Hub by getting family and friends to support them and make every move count.
There will be a raffle with some great prizes to be won on the day.
The classes are all taken by qualified fitness instructors who are giving up their time to do this event free and thanks go Rachel Burrows, Joanne Berends-Sheriff, Kurt Mcdonnell, Roz Edwards, Steve Jenkinson and Rachel Holland.
Lyndsay Fahey, chief executive, Rainbow Hub, said: “This is a fantastic event which has been growing from the beginning. Sadly we had to go virtual last year due to the pandemic but it was still a success and we expect a great turnout this year. We would like to thank local businesses supporting the event, especially JMW Solicitors and Preston North End Football Club for allowing us to use their facilities, Ultrasec for attending the event to provide first aid if needed, and Gareth Edwards Photography. We are also extremely grateful to everyone who is giving up their time to help especially the instructors."
She added, “The Workout-athon is also a great time for participants to starting training and sign up for the Annual Rainbow Hub Ramble which will take place on 21st May 2022 when a number of local businesses support the event and join in each year.”
