Burnley-based building contractor Rainford Wade has secured the contract to renovate the 19th century The Lawrence Hotel, formerly the Trevalyn guest house.
The job will include the complete renovation of the main house and the centre piece of a floating bathroom in the aves of the Tolkien suite.
Michael Huckerby, owner of The Lawrence, said: “This is a hugely personal and important project for me and it was so important that I got it right when selecting the construction firm who will help me renovate the space that will become The Lawrence.”
Michael, who is originally from Preston, has worked in Manchester and Florida. He previously owned Simple - one of the venues credited for kicking off Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter - and also ran digital and design business Creative Spark in the UK and USA. He started his career at the Macdonald hotel The Tickled Trout in Preston and then went on to be food and beverage manager at Le Meriden Victoria and Albert in Manchester.
