CUBE HR’s managing director Lisa Sourbutts joined almost 1,000 other small business owners for Theo Paphitis’ annual event for his #SBS Small Business Sunday winners in Birmingham.
The day was filled with brilliant speakers such as Rachel Watkyn from The Tiny Box Company who received investment from both Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones on Dragons Den, and Debbie Lewis from NatWest Business. The day finished with a fireside chat with Theo and fellow TV Dragon and textile king Touker Suleyman, who took questions from Theo and the audience for almost 2 hours in a highly inspirational session.
After the event Lisa got to meet Theo and have her photograph taken receiving her #sbs winners certificate. Lisa said “The day was just truly inspiration from start to finish. It was reassuring to hear from very successful business owners that they don’t always have it all worked out, but as long as the passion is there, you’ll do well. I’m already very passionate about what we do but the event left me with even more fire in my belly. Theo took the time to speak to everyone too, it was just amazing. I already can’t wait to go back next year”
As well as the speaker line up winners were able to attend breakout sessions with various industry experts on topics like PR, Finance and Business Mentoring. Entertainment was provided by other #sbs winners including Exceed Events showcasing a 360 experience and an infinity mirror, and music by Capriccio Quartet.
Small businesses can enter to be part of #SBS every Sunday between 5-7.30 pm on Twitter or Instagram.
CUBE provide expert HR and Employment Law support to businesses that are not large enough to have their own in-house HR team or need some additional support for larger scale projects.
