Bowker BMW and MINI in Blackburn have appointed Chris Taylor as the new service manager.
Chris brings 38 years of experience to the role. Chris started his career in 1985 as an apprentice with Accrington Garages. Chris joins Bowker from Mercedes Benz in Blackburn, where he was aftersales manager. Before that, he was the MINI service manager at Lloyd Blackpool. Chris has served thousands of motorists, including the late TV presenter and comedian Jim Bowen.
Away from work, Chris lives in Clayton le Moors with his wife and has two daughters. He enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his 18-month-old working cocker spaniel, Tilly.
New Bowker service manager Chris Taylor said: "This is a great new role for me. Working in the industry for so long, I know all about Bowker BMW and MINI. That’s what I wanted to work here. I’m looking forward to working with a great team and continuing Bowker’s reputation for exceptional service."
Chris Eccles, Bowker BMW director, said, "It's brilliant news to welcome someone with Chris’s experience to the team. He’s worked in after-sales for almost 40 years and has a wealth of hands-on experience. His deep understanding of the industry plus knowledge of BMW and MINI brands make him the perfect fit for the role."
Chris is the second recent high-profile after-sales appointment in the Bowker Motor Group. Last year, Bowker BMW in Preston appointed Dave Mechan as a new service manager.
Dave is now responsible for the largest aftersales centre in Lancashire. Dave started with Bowker as a technician in 2002 and went on to enjoy roles as workshop controller and workshop manager. Dave’s promotion came months before his 20th anniversary with the company in December.
Bigger than a football pitch, the Bowker aftersales centre is on a 6.5-acre site on Watery Lane in Preston. It has 30 ramps, two dedicated MOT lanes and a state-of-the-art laser wheel alignment machine.
