A team of 7 LCM Environmental volunteers completed the Born Survivor obstacle course in support of Andy's Man Club – a charity dedicated to male suicide prevention and support.
Their sponsorship surpassed the £1,000 target and reached £2,320 raised for the foundation.
Demonstrating unbreakable team spirit and fantastic teamwork, the LCM volunteers conquered the 10K Born Survivor track, completing all 16 obstacles in just 2:15hrs.
The team’s participation in the ‘muddy’ challenge was part of a fundraising effort for the Andys Man Club, a men's suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online.
The initial fundraising target was set at £1,000, but LCM team's outstanding efforts exceeded this goal; the team is beyond grateful to everyone who supported the undertaking and took part.
The funds raised through this initiative will directly benefit Andy's Man Club mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and create a judgment-free, confidential space where men can be open about the storms in their lives.
We aim to achieve this through weekly, free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups for men aged over 18. This accomplishment reflects not only LCM Environmental's commitment to environmental solutions but also their commitment to social responsibility and charitable support.
Richard Wallace, CEO of LCM Environmental (and one of the 7 participants), expressed his pride in the team's remarkable performance, saying,
“LCM has experienced remarkable growth and transformation over the past year, a testament to the exceptional team we’ve assembled. It was our team’s collective decision to support Andy's Man Club in this year’s Born Survivor event. In our industry, we often encounter strong, seemingly invincible men. It’s inspiring to support a charity that recognizes the importance of talking about mental health.
Mental health has always been a cornerstone of our company culture, and we’re committed to upholding the highest standards in this area. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting Andy's Man Club and breaking down the barriers that prevent people from seeking help.”
