Blackpool’s first business expo hailed a success

Blackpool’s first business expo has been hailed a success by organisers and exhibitors.

The region’s first exhibition took place at Ribby Hall Village, attracting almost 60 exhibitors, five business seminars and more than 230 visitors on the day.

Organised by Launch Events and RKMS, and sponsored by Collins and Darwell, the event was opened by John Keen, managing director of RKMS and Rob Green, head of enterprise and investment, Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Economic Development Company. Both took the opportunity to pay tribute to the region’s optimistic and vibrant business community.

Speaking about the day, Nicola Howard, owner of Launch Events said: “It was a fantastic success, an opportunity for business communities to utilise a platform to showcase their products and services.

“Throughout the day we received excellent feedback highlighting the positive atmosphere and the value generated for exhibitors. I’m looking forward to making this an annual event.”

Former BBC Apprentice finalist, Neil Clough inspired delegates with his motivational speech, inspiring attendees to not be afraid to make mistakes but to learn from them and that the key to success is standing out from the crowd.

RKMS managing director, John Keen said: "As a Blackpool-based company, over the years RKMS have benefited from the success of attending and exhibiting at business expos in other areas throughout the North West.

Chris Curtis, membership advisor (Fylde Coast), Federation of Small Businesses commented: “The Federation of Small Businesses is the UK's largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms as such it is important that we support the local business community wherever possible. It was my pleasure to attend the event and meet so many business owners from Blackpool and surrounding areas. “The event was well attended and very informative, the speakers were excellent and from a personal basis it was very well organised, I look forward to attending the next event.”
