To mark national apprenticeship week, Blackburn-based IT company Abbero is celebrating the success of the company’s first apprentice.
Alexander Williams joined the business in September 2020 and after pondering a career change for a few years the Kirkham based student was keen to find a role in IT, an industry he’s always had an interest in.
Alexander who is studying a Digital Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship with Blackpool and The Fylde College, said: “I’ve loved my first 18 months at Abbero, working across a range of clients, sectors and projects.
“The first 18 months have been challenging but have flown by, I’ve learnt so many new skills, alongside studying the practical elements of the course. I can’t wait to develop in the role as my apprenticeship progresses.”
Ben Abbott, managing director at Abbero said: “Alexander has fitted in really well at Abbero, he’s been dealing with our customers from day one and relishes the opportunities that come his way.
“He’s already bringing new skills to the business and his course specialisms in cyber security will be a real asset to the company.”
Abbero has recently invested in larger office space at Blackburn Technology Management Centre, moving from elsewhere in the building.
Ben added: “After a number of recent client wins our new office space is part of the next wave of growth for the business. Our base just off the M65 in Blackburn allows us to reach clients with ease across the county.
“We’ve had a positive start to 2022, we're looking forward to expanding our services and the team further this year.”
Abbero works with a number of SMEs and large organisations across Lancashire, specialising in fully-managed ICT solutions and support.
