Upgraded infrastructure
The town’s major regeneration programme began more than five years ago with the new promenade and tramway. This is now fully operational and both the commuter and heritage trams share the line to transport visitors both north or south.The electrification of the train line between Preston and Blackpool has now been completed the mainline train service allows direct trains into Blackpool without any need to change.
The next phase will be to take the tram line up to Blackpool North where the new interchange hub will meet the mainline train, offering a connected service for our guest from arrival, the extension and the interchange is due for completion by 2021.Brand new venues
At the heart of the new plans is a new conference and exhibition centre at the Winter Gardens which is scheduled to open in August 2019.
The 6,000 sq m venue will offer either a standalone separate space, across two floors to accommodate up to 2,000 people, or - working with the rest of Winter Gardens - will offer enough space to accommodate more than 7,000 delegates.Hampton by Hilton Hotel is now open and occupancy rates are almost 100 per cent since opening in June 2018.
All 130 bedrooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus tea and coffee making facilities. Upgraded rooms are available and include sea views and/or sofa beds. A breakfast buffet is complimentary. Other amenities include a 24-hour restaurant/bar and a gym.The next hotel to open will be the Boulevard Hotel located on Ocean Boulevard Blackpool. The hotel is a brand new seafront property at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Scheduled to open Easter 2019 the hotel will have 120 stylish bedrooms including 10 suites and family rooms.Complete with a 90-seat signature restaurant and state of the art conference facilities for up to 200 delegates.
A new 150-bedroom, six-storey Premier Inn at Talbot Square is to open in the New Year 2020.Sands Venue Resort Hotel will open late autumn 2019 with 96 bedrooms, including a number of luxury penthouse suites overlooking the promenade and the Irish Sea.
