The 152-bedroom Hampton by Hilton Blackburn has announced a significant investment in solar power.
The hotel has installed a system featuring 124 Risen Energy 410W solar panels on its rooftop.
This 50.84kWp system, complete with two 20kW inverters, already provides a significant portion of the hotel's total energy requirements.
All energy created by the system will be used by the hotel rather than being sold, reducing its reliance on the National Grid and minimising its environmental impact.
The move is part of a 25-year plan for the site to reduce its carbon footprint by 246 tonnes.
Complementing this solar initiative, the hotel also features three Electric Vehicle charging points.
Adam Barrow, general manager, said: "We thrilled to announce the integration of solar power at Hampton by Hilton Blackburn. This marks a significant step in our journey towards sustainable hospitality, reinforcing our commitment to environmental responsibility."
