Blackburn based doughnut manufacturer, Simply Doughnuts has secured several new contracts which will see new ‘On the Go’ mini bite doughnuts distributed in thousands of garage forecourts and convenience stores across the UK.
Simply Doughnuts has secured deals with two new major distributors; Tate Business Group that supply to over 4,000 forecourts (including Shell, BP, Texaco sites) and RS Sales that distribute to convenience stores (Costcutter and Premier) and major forecourt group dealers.Simply Doughnuts have been supplying to 99p Stores since opening in February earlier this year. The doughnuts are popular with distributors as they are yeast raised and retain their freshness for several days. This is a major selling point for retailers who are often required to freeze and defrost doughnuts for sale.
Simply Doughnuts has benefited from a great deal of support, including from Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, who sourced funding through the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s Assistance to Industry programme for new machinery and equipment.Regenerate also advised with the creation of an automated online ordering system, through their Lancashire Innovation Network programme, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund. Shiraz Master, managing director at Simply Doughnuts, said: “We are very excited with the growth of Simply Doughnuts and will be creating new jobs and developing new products to meet the demand successfully. We have been delighted with the support received from Regenerate’s advisors who have reacted positively and swiftly to help me reach this stage.”
