Latest data reveals Blackburn College is the best General FE College in Pennine Lancashire when it comes to apprenticeship achievement rates for the 2018/19 academic year.
For all age apprenticeships, Blackburn College tops the Pennine Lancashire achievement charts.
With a Timely Achievement Rate of 74.4% for all ages, the Feilden Street College ranked within the top 20 best colleges in the whole of England.
Blackburn College is currently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted for apprenticeships with Ofsted saying: “Apprentices demonstrate skilfully the skills and knowledge they gain that benefit their employers’ businesses” and “Apprentices benefit from well-resourced facilities that enable them to develop their practical skills well, using a range of modern up-to-date equipment.”
Nicola Clayton, director of business development and commercial at Blackburn College, said: “The College has a proud history of delivering quality apprenticeship provision and working closely with both the apprentices and the employer.
“It’s through this close work and collaboration that we’re able to achieve such high apprenticeship success, placing Blackburn College top College in Pennine Lancashire and also within the top 20 of colleges in the UK.”
Stewart Rose, service manager at Bowker BMW, said: “With the support Bowker have received, it’s no surprise the college has such a high apprenticeship achievement.”
When it comes to 16-18-year-old apprentices, Blackburn College features in England’s Top 10 Colleges; ranking 9th.
The highest achievement rate, 74.4%, came at Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships, which again put Blackburn College in the country’s top 20 performing colleges.
