Blackburn College has launched its new Advance Employability Programme for 16-18-year-old learners.
The Advance Employability Programme is designed to facilitate the improvement of professional skills - ensuring learners are prepared for work and further study and to ensure they develop the attributes needed to excel in their career.
The programme is endorsed by top employers including East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Electricity North West and PM+M Accountants.
Skills learned through the programme will help people shape future employment and career goals through four key areas: Career Focussed, Progression Ready, Engaged with Employers and Excelling in Development of Skills, Knowledge, Behaviours and Attitudes.
Gillian Cairns, education and workforce lead at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is delighted to support Blackburn College’s Advance Employability Programme. When students from the College participate in work experience and careers events within the Trust it is very apparent that they have so much potential to offer future employers.
“We want to continue to work with the College to build on this and enable young people to be successful when applying for jobs in the future so that they can commence their career journey in health care.”
