The project is funded by National Aerospace Technology Programme and will involve students from Higher Education and Further Education programmes at Blackburn College.
“To develop this technology, we are using a drone to design, manufacture and assemble thermo-electric generators which will convert wasted heat into electrical power.”
Graham Towse, interim vice principal (curriculum and quality) at Blackburn College said: “It is a very exciting opportunity for Blackburn College to be working in partnership with Stavros, prime aerospace companies such as BAE and a world-leading university such as Cranfield. “This project offers fantastic opportunities for our students and staff, and the experiences gained will be unique throughout the sector.”
