Blackburn Audi, which is part of family owned Swansway Group with car and van dealerships across the North West and Midlands, are used to dealing with complex mechanical issues and delighting customers. But even they were surprised to receive a letter in the post a rather special request from the children in Class 1 at Chatburn CE Primary School.
In a charming letter to the Blackburn Audi centre, the children and the school Office Manager Mrs Willis, explained that they had been given an Audi R8 Spyder toy that unfortunately wasn’t working. They went on to say that despite their best efforts to fix it themselves “as 4 and 5 year olds, we do not as yet have enough experience”.
David Horsfield, the Head of Business at the Audi centre, immediately approached two of the highly skilled Blackburn Audi technicians, Allan Lawson and Adam King. They happily agreed to undertake the work involved and set about bringing this rather special Audi R8 Spyder back to its former glory. Once fully repaired, the Blackburn Audi team delivered the vehicle back to the school to the delight and grateful thanks of Class 1 and Mrs Willis.
David Horsfield said: “I got buy-in to undertake the project from the two technicians straight away. It was just a nice thing for us to be able to do to support a local primary school. As a family owned business we are always happy when we have an opportunity to give back to the community where we do business. And the smiles on the children’s faces are a great reward for our efforts.”
