Philip McIvor, the chairman of Foluridge-based Farmhouse Biscuits, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year's honours list.
The businessman heads the family business, now in its fourth generation, which switched its focus from farming to biscuits in the early 1970s.Today, the company operates out of a 200,000sq ft facility and employs 300. Philip's MBE was given in recognition of his services to the food industry and to the economic regeneration of Lancashire. The honours list also included Stephen Hill, chair of Lytham-based Action on Hearing Loss, who was awarded an OBE for services to People with Hearing Problems and charity.
