After the cancellation of the 2020 event due to the pandemic, the Birchall Foodservice BIG Event returned on the 5th October with a record number of customers and suppliers in attendance.
More than 80 caterers came along to the Burnley-based wholesaler’s in-house event centre to sample food and drink from 33 leading foodservice suppliers, including Marshfield Ice Cream, Meatless Farm and Whitby Seafoods.
Customers were also invited to attend Natasha’s Law seminars throughout the day, which were delivered by allergen and nutritional expert, Jacqui McPeake.
Kayleigh Holian, catering manager at Thornton Hall Country Park said “Birchall’s tradeshows are always inspiring and educational, but this year’s event was the best yet. The Natasha’s Law seminars cleared up a few concerns I had, and I returned to my venue feeling more informed about the new legislation.”
While the weather wasn’t kind to the founder Country Range member, the 5 hour event also had outdoor food vans, pop-up marquees and the opportunity for caterers to sample festive products from Birchall’s 2021 Christmas offering.
The family-run wholesaler is now in the process of putting together its calendar of events for 2021, which will include the return of the popular ‘BIG’ Event, as well as a dysphagia workshop, a ‘free from’ exhibition and bespoke workshops, including a chocolate making masterclass and product upselling classes.
