Video production company Bigtank has launched a dedicated 3D animation division.
Rob Higgins, who joined the company as a video editor in September 2021, will head up the new division. He began his career as a video and technical designer in 2012 after completing his degree in games design and 3D modelling at UCLAN.
Rob said: “Video is now 82 per cent of internet traffic and that number is set only to grow. But what many people don’t realise when they look at that stat is that it doesn’t just represent the click-to-watch videos many of us think of when we hear the term. It actually represents all the moving digital images that make up the modern internet experience.
“So 3D animation is a massive part of that, while also being a fantastic way to provide explainer content for everything from seriously technical engineering products to education to health and wellbeing – the list is endless.
“We’ve got a huge amount of experience in creating that kind of content but decided the time was right now to launch a specialist department, able to provide stand-alone 3D animation projects or integrate with our film department to deliver seamless, motion marketing solutions that help clients tell their stories in the most dynamic and effective way possible.”
With a team of nine, working across the UK and the world from its Ramsbottom-based studios, Bigtank has been providing creative video solutions to companies and organisations nationwide since 2005, with clients including Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the Department for International Trade, GA Petfood Partners, the NHS and Manchester Metropolitan University.
